Turtle Beach Ear Force X1

You remember the first time Spiderman’s spidey sense kicked in? He was a little overwhelmed at first, but with time he came to understand his gift. Well that’s how I felt when I first used my Turtle Beach Ear Force X1 headset. At first I was overwhelmed with being able to hear so much gun fire in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but I was hooked after a few games. I’m not going to say Turtle Beach Ear Force X1 is the best headset, but you can’t beat the rice tag of $59.95.

PROS
Super Adjustable, padded headband
Chat and in game audio
USB powered from the Xbox 360
Inline amplifier, mute. and volume control
Separate controls for game and chat volumes
16 feet of cable
Also works with PC games . (Also will work with Itunes on Macs)
Kick ass bass

CONS
Tons of wires
Background static when the volume is turned up
Background static when sending outgoing messages
Personally I’m not crazy about the overall appearance of the product

Fallout 3 Review – In Case You Missed it!

FALLOUT 3 Poster

Pros:

Long, interactive quests with multiple dialog options.

Several downloadable storylines, with new weapons, armor and collectible

Vast, open-ended Wasteland full of unique buildings and true-to-life landmarks

Use the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System to pop off sweet headshots on Raiders.

If you’re a collector of things, this game has plenty of in-game items to hoard, fashion into a custom weapon, or shoot at baddies!

You can be a goodie two-shoes, savior of the Wasteland or an Evil, destroyer of humanity. Or walk the line, as a neutral character.

Cons:

As with any DLC, you have to pay 800MSP for each expansion pack.

At times, travelling through the Wasteland is tedious, fighting Mutants and Raiders at every new location.

Has a “Post-Apocalyptic Oblivion, with guns” feel…which can be good, or bad.

You gain XP too quickly. Once you’re a level 20, it’s over unless you purchase the ‘Broken Steel’ add-on.

The main story is a little weak. It’s the side quests that keep the game interesting

Bottom Line:

Whether you’re about to take on that Super Mutant Behemoth or try to outrun the armor-clad Enclave, be sure to stock up on Nuka-Cola Quantum and Jet before you venture out into The Radioactive Wasteland.

Nara’s Score –  8/10

In Case You Missed It – Dark Sector Review

Dark Sector came out March 20, 2008 and I am just now playing this a year later. A lull in new games lately has forced me to play other stuff that I didn’t have time for previously. I found a copy of this game for $4.50 and could not resist.

Dark Sector

Console:  XBOX 360

Rated by:  moto grrl

Final Review:  8.5/10

Pros:

  • Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor – Smallville) voice over for lead character
  • Love the graphics & sound
  • Gameplay is intuitive and fun
  • As game progresses new abilities are learned
  • Ability to buy/upgrade weapons

Cons:

  • Storyline is kind of generic
  • Bosses can be annoying to beat

Overall, this is a very solid game that I am enjoying playing.  The super cheap price tag on it now makes it a must have.  Seriously, don’t pay more than $9.99.  Just keep an eye out for it!

Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009

Console: Wii

Final Review 3.4/10
I had high hopes for this game, but that changed after five minutes of game play. You’ll love the soundtrack that is if you like techno with a mix of country. The graphics are what you’d expect coming from the Wii. The main reason I tried this game was because it utilized the Wii Fit Balance Board. The only problem was the reaction time of the character was way off, which is if it even reacted at all. There was an odd mix of workouts from jumping on logs to throwing paint grenades. I did enjoy the boxing/kick boxing. The game also rewards you with healthy eating/fitness tips, which was great. The only down side to this is you have to play the game to get rewarded. In the end Jillian is still badass, but she really needs a little help on the game design department. Time to get back to playing some COD4.
